Personal and small group Java tuition

Java mascot

Studying Java at university or using it at work? Need some help developing your programming skills? Want to prepare before your new degree, academic year or job starts?

Learning takes effort but it needn't be a struggle. If you're finding Java frustrating, why not relieve the difficulty and get ahead with personal tuition? I offer personal and small group Java tuition to university students in Brighton and London. In personal tuition, learning becomes like an interesting conversation, where topics are discussed in an understandable and friendly way. We'll work on engaging and creative tasks so the subject comes alive for you, which helps you stay motivated and see the progress your making.

Personal tuition

If this interests you, for a free consultation. We'll talk about your situation and goals, look at the options available, decide if personal tuition would be helpful for you and arrange when to meet. Many students start with two one-hour sessions a week, giving you time to reflect and work between meetings without the next one being too far away if you get stuck. If you're not sure if tuition would be helpful for you, you can book an introductory taster session at half price.

My standard rates are £25 per hour for undergraduates and pre-university students, £35 per hour for postgraduates and others. For more details about rates and discounts, see my frequently asked questions.

Small group tuition

I offer tuition for groups of three to six people for an hour and a half at £15 per person. Working in a group can be an enjoyable, productive and cost effective alternative to individual sessions. Groups work well when members are at a similar level and working towards similar goals, perhaps taking the same course or working on a project together.

If you're interested in joining a group, if you already have a group and are looking for a tutor or if you've any questions, do .
